PISGAH NATIONAL FOREST

From Asheville, it's a quick drive to any of the entrances of the Pisgah National Forest. Once you enter, you don't want to leave. It is positively beautiful!

DOWNTOWN ASHEVILLE

I LOVE ASHEVILLE! It's a town filled with great shops, lots of art, and beautiful tree-lined streets. And, if you get tired of the city, you only have about a 10 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway for some of the most breathtaking scenery!

Asheville is very vegetarian friendly!

BLACK MOUNTAIN

Black Mountain is about 20 (give or take) miles east of Asheville. It's a small place with a lot of quaint shops and antique stores. If you ever go, BE SURE to stop in to Mountain Spirit Cards and Gifts and meet Bella (below). She will entertain and inspire you! And after she entertains you, she expects you to take a treat out of her bowl and hand it to her. It's worth a trip to Black Mountain to meet her (and her human mother is very nice too!) - and besides Bella, it's a cool little shop!

Hendersonville is an antiquer's dream
This was a great little store called Red-Step, on the
main street. It had all kinds of fun art in it.

This was a very interesting piece of art. It was a
light made from an old tea pot and scrap metal!
More interesting art.
Bears are all over the city!

BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS!

During the Spring and Summer (and even Fall), there are beautiful flowers all over the Asheville and Blue Ridge Parkway area.
